Is "My" God "Your" God, (Khendal Lillard) Section 8 group 2) Post#1

Christianity is one of the most popular religions in the world. It is a religion that is based on the belief in one God. An all knowing and all powerful God that loves us. These things are indeed true but, the bible contains certain scriptures that are not as popular as these beliefs. Uncovering those scriptures and using them to evaluate your relationship with God will leadyou to ask the question that I, myself, wondered as I researched this topic. Do all Christians believe in the same God? It sounds like a stupid question with a simple answer, however, it is neither.

In the book of Exodous, there's a set of laws that all Christians are supposed to follow. They are better known as the Ten Commandments. These commandments are not to be broken and are fairly simple in nature to follow. It reads:

1. Do not worship any other Gods.
2. Do not make any idols for worship.
3. Do not use the Lord our God's name in vain.
4. Remember the sabbath day and keep it holy.
5. Honor your father and mother.
6. Do not kill.
7. Do not commit adultery.
8. Do not steal.
9. Do not lie.
10. Do not covet.

Ask yourself this question, "Are you guilty of breaking any of these commandments?". The answer is probably yes. Some people perceive certain commandments to be worse than others. This isn't true. Sin is sin and just as you broke one commandment, you could break the others. The second commandment is where I want to focus. It denounces the making of any idols for worship. Some Christians do this daily and see nothing wrong with it. They bow to statues like this:

There you see a statue of the virgin Mary who, in the bible, was Jesus' mother. I personally know Christians that will bow to her statue and pray to her but still consider themselves Christians. This happens because some people see certain commandments in a different light than others. A subtle bow to the statue pictured above isn't as bad as killing someone right? Wrong. It is completely unacceptable, however, most Christians are unaware of this. The reason why this happens is because some gospel scriptures are more popular than others. I've noticed that the scriptures that adamently reject a variety of popular lifestyles and beliefs are unpopular. In my next post I will include a video reference that will be about an hour long that will shine more light on some of the more unpopular gospels. I will elaborate on them regarding their meaining and purpose.
