Section 8, Group 4

On Monday we discussed how scarce women philosophers actually were in in society over the last few centuries.  We feel this so because all women were oppressed in the workfield and society.  We talked about male views and female views.  We discussed how how men felt how the woman should be in the home and men should bring home the money.  As apposed, we talked about how the women felt that they  should be equal and have the same opportunities as men.
DC: Why has it taken so long for feminism to appear?
FC: What two philosophers held women students?  Plato and Pathagoras

  1. I feel that it took so long for women to appear because they were too busy worrying about civil rights.
FC: In what city did Plotinus teach a famous art school? Rome

  2. I agree with Logan. Women focused on gaining more rights for better jobs and better pay so either most women were just not interested in philosophy or they just didn't want to. There were a few women philosophers before but they philosophized during a time that women did not have the rights that they do now so their works are definitely less known.
FC: What year was Plotinus born? 205
DC: Why was Plotinus's teachings of Neoplatonism so important to philosophy?
