Second Post Midterm: Philosophy and Social Roles. Section 8- Teshell Gales

In today's society what are the roles of a man? Should they only work? Is it wrong for a man to stay home with the children instead of his wife?
I believe over time people have made it seem like the men have to go off and work no matter what. I do believe men can be a stay home parent just as well as a woman. Like I said in my previous post women and men should be counted as equal in everything they do even inside their marriage. Men and women are not different. According to Plato, although women and men differentiate as fair as height, strength, and similar qualities. Some women are indeed taller than a man, and some women are indeed stronger than a man. He feels as if despite characteristics of that sort there is nothing different about them. That women can perform the same task as a man and vice versa.
Is it healthy for a man to be at home with the children more than a woman? Why not. It's just important for a child to get that one on one experience with his or her father as well. A man does not have to go  off and work all the time. In many families no one wants other people raising their child. So they decide to make one of them a house parent. If the woman has a more serious and better incoming career than her husband then of course it's only right for him to stay at home instead. That doesn't take away from him still being the man of the household. It's all about sacrifices. So as far as a certain role a man should take is absolutely ridiculous to me.
