2nd Post Midterm - Emily Russell Section 11

As I am growing up, I am slowly and surely realizing how important being confident in your beliefs can be, and how if you’re not confident, you can get lost in the confusion of what others believe. Meditation is best defined as something that someone would do by themselves to reach their inner selves. Meditation has been practiced by many different religions and has been practiced for thousands of years... When meditating, it is a chance for one to gain complete control of their mind and body. But some might argue that the process of meditating is not easy. In order to achieve the best results you must learn how to be several things all at once, but still be in a state of relaxation and comfort. The process involves the person first focusing on one thing, and one thing only. Once you have started focusing on that item, you then must start controlling your stress level, and enter the state of relaxation. While meditating you have the opportunity to learn about your true identity and escape from reality to find your inner "soul”. I think that meditating is helpful because I believe that everyone has their own "universe" in which they control. In this universe I believe that your actions and thoughts are what ultimately make you happy, or sad. I also believe that mediation is important because of the mindset we enter when we meditate. I think that a person’s mindset can affect their "universe" and how things may work out for them. While we may not have "free will" in certain topics in society, we ultimately deicide our destiny, and it is important that we understand the affects that one decision can make on your whole life, and how the little decision may not seem to be important at the time, it can later lead to a huge milestone or decision in your life. Each person decides their own destiny by how they react towards situations and that leads them down the path they wanted. When in a state of meditation I think one connects with their universe and in can truly make life changing decisions without being in a stressful environment of under the stress of society.  I believe that mediating should be a subject that is discussed and taught more to help with each individual in finding out what they believe. The video below tells the importance for meditation in everyday life, and how when you don’t know what to do or believe that through meditation you can find your answers, and ultimately reaching your Nirvana. Buddhism is mostly related with meditation and its practices. I think meditation can relate to philosophy in that way that every day we encounter situations that make us use or show what we believe, and sometimes we are caught in a zone where we may not be sure what we believe, or how we believe and with meditation and time you can eventually reach a point to where you have no worries, or fears and are a 100 percent confident in who you are. Once you reach that, I believe you will have reached your Nirvana and then will have all the answers to all your questions and be confident in what and who you believe in.
