FINAL MIDTERM blog 3, section 8

Aristotle was another great philosopher. He was born in Stagira in North Greece. This guy was the son of Nichomachus. At first Aristotle did not study philosophy. He actually studied medicine first. In 367 he went to Athens to study philosophy with Plato.

The picture below is Plato and Aristotle:

Basically Aristotle studied in Athens at Plato’s Academy for about 10 years. And after Plato died, he actually opposed some of Plato’s teachings. It is also said that he written 150 philosophical treaties. Things being related to biological and some physics to morals and to politics. Some people consider the treaties made by Aristotle called lecture notes instead. And some of the “lecture notes” are said to be made by some of Artistotle’s students. This is because Aristotle encouraged his students to be a part of philosophy to a different level.

Aristotle saw ultimate reality in physical objects according to usmp.berkeley.edu. Aristotle’s zoology studies were known to be some of the best of all time. Even after his death, he remained to have ultimate authority. Aristotle made some remarkable observations of some marine animals, such as an octopus or a cuttlefish.

Aristotle’s thoughts on earth’s sciences were quite remarkable too. Such as the Earth’s milky way, comets, meteors, and rainbows even.

"Now the sun, moving as it does, sets up processes of change and becoming and decay, and by its agency the finest and sweetest water is every day carried up and is dissolved into vapour and rises to the upper region, where it is condensed again by the cold and so returns to the earth."
