Group #2 - Section 017

Group #2 - Sec. 017:

In the group meeting we have discussed many aspects of the Confucius Religion and
Philosophy. We first asked where did Confucianism first originated? And do they have the same ideals as Jews, Muslims and Christians do? Why is this religion only spread in China and Korea? And do they
worship a single God or many Gods? How did the Confucianism somehow evolve Shintoists, Taoists, Buddhists, Muslims and Christians?

We have also talked about reality and how it is connected to Philosophy and Religions.
What is reality? What is mind; what is thought? Is thought real? Which is superior: mind or matter? Has mind created matter or has matter evolved mind? Does thought have any importance and does it make any difference in our lives--or is it just fantasy? Is there a universal Truth, true for all men forever, or is Truth relative or individual? And does a "Soul" exist? Is it a reality or just one our fantasies? If a soul always existed, why can't we remember anything before birth, and why the "Soul" is always related to Religion? It is a God-Made "thing" or Human-Made idea?

Personal Note:
"The fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken
man is happier than a sober one."

  1. In my opinion mind is superior to matter.

I do believe that there is such a thing as a soul in life.

  2. Reality is life, and it is connected to religion because religion is our individual life/belief.

I personally believe that thought is an idea that can be turned into reality so in that case thought would have to be real.

I also believe that mind and matter go hand and hand dispite the saying "mind over matter"

Thought has a lot to do with our daily lives without the thought process we would do and say the craziest things and not feel the embarrassment that we feel when people laugh at us.

Once again me being a Christian I have to believe that we all have a soul, and with that soul lies our reward or punishment in the afterlife. Ones soul is created when you one is created. The soul holds ones moralities...That I believe is why we feel guilty after doing the wrong things. It is tied into religion, for Christians the soul is the key to communicating with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

  4. I do believe that mind created matter. That's true in my opinion because we just didn't "have" the knowledge of matter, someone thought of it, using their mind, therefore mind created matter technically.

  5. the mind triumps over all matter, when someone is in a coma we don't worry about there body as much as we worry about their mind and brain. the mind doesn't have to have the body to function, but body uhas to have the mind. this is presnt in dreams. while the body is inactive the mind races and creates different worlds, that only the dreamer can see and be apart of.
