"The pluralistic form takes for me a stronger hold on reality than any other philosophy I know of, being essentially a social philosophy, a philosophy of 'co'"-William James
Mysticism and Zen are both very foreign topics that I have had little exposure too. Though after the readings they have become more transparent and have spurred my interest.
I don't know if I would call it insight to the universe. To me I think emptying your mind would allow you to put your own life in perspective. Often we get caught up in the day to day and don't think about most of our actions or the effects to those actions. Things become routine and we take 90% of our day for granted. Doing the same motions over and over and soon thats all they become is motions instead of movements with a purpose. As far as us having a relationship to everything around us, I believe to an extent, and by that I mean maybe our immediate surroundings. I don't think a tree in china is going to be affected by much of anything I do, as opposed to the bush in my backyard that my dogs gnaw on. The outcome of the bush was a direct effect to me getting my dogs. Thought food.
