"The pluralistic form takes for me a stronger hold on reality than any other philosophy I know of, being essentially a social philosophy, a philosophy of 'co'"-William James
Well, TRYING to know yourself is the beginning. The quest for true self-knowledge is an ongoing project. Aristotle knew that, it's why he said eudaimonia takes a lifetime.
Knowing yourself is useful to say the least, but is it necessary to be wise? Can wisdom not be applied in any scenario? Can we not have wisdom without self-knowledge, or even self awareness? I understand it in the context of the eudaemonic way... maybe I’m taking it too literally. #11
I don't think you'll ever fully know yourself though. As you get older, you'll always look back on your younger self and realize how little you knew, even if that younger version of yourself was you at 50.
