Philosophies need to be implemented at certain situations so that ones life can be fulfilled to the highest possible degree. We talked about what stoicism meant to most people in America are told that they can achieve anything they want but this was, in the eyes of a stoic, simply is not the case. We as a group thought that it would be helpful to have a half and half philosophy that was half stoicism and half Epicurean in nature so that you can be happy and also have this sort of strength that stoicism offers when there is not control.
I agree with the half and half philosophy, but i have to say that I would be okay with a singular Epicurean style of personal philosophy. All he really said was that we shouldnt worry about death and all that comes with it, because we have no control over that. He wants you to live your life to the fullest because you never know what can happen in a day or night.
