section 13 group 3 (9/11/12)

Today our group talked about multiple topics. We talked about weather morals vary depending on culture or situations, and how to or if you could change morals. We also discussed religion and if life goes on after you die, your position on beliefs and if you have them or not, and weather or not beliefs can be a link to unhappiness.

  1. I believe that the morals vary from culture to culture. If we steal in the United States we go to jail but in some countries you get your hands cut off for stealing.

  2. Lemme think... I agree austin. morals definitely vary from culture to culture and country to country even nation to nation. Depending on the culture or nationality of a person, their morals will vary slightly or even extremely such as extreme Christians in the Western culture to extreme Islamics in the eastern culture. Which raises the question can you change culture in a single generation? And if so, how? Boom.

  3. I think beliefs can be a link to unhappiness if you let them. If you let what someone else holds as a standard for how you live, you might miss out on awesome opportunities that you would have had fun with. And I think a lot of times what people hold as standards are things their parents pounded into their heads from birth, so they don't really know if they actually believe it or not.
