Walking and thinking

  1. I do believe that walking is amazing for us psychologically, but this article caught my eye because of the art featured on the tweet! It's by Shaun Tan for a special edition of Brother's Grimm fairy tales!

  2. As we talked about during the first day of class, walking and thinking to me is an odd combination to me as when I contemplate things rarely do I go for a walk. However the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. Like how when you talk on the phone you often find yourself aimlessly walking and talking, so can one wall and think

Sedentary lifestyles have been proven to cause a multitude of ailments in the human body and one of the first steps to getting rid of the sedentary lifestyle is to start walking or exercising. Healthy Body = Healthy Mind.

I have always found walking and contemplating philosophical thoughts to be quite difficult, as I tend to focus on my surroundings and think about those instead.

  5. I tried to implement this philosophy during my finals last semester and I intend to do so this semester. My greatest ideas for papers have come from when I'm not trying hard to think at all. This may not work for others, but it sure has benefited me a lot.

  6. A major theme of our class! I enjoyed the sunny and 65 degree weather yesterday and finally get the opportunity to walk and think without being frozen or soaked. All this rain and cold really effects my mental health, I was ecstatic to finally get some great weather.
