Summary
Socrates and Plato are considered two of the fathers of western philosophy. Socrates contributions to philosophy were mostly from the manner in which he would come to conclusions, such as his persistent questioning or close examination. He was born in 470 BC and was put to death by Greece in 399 being accused of tampering the minds of the youth. Plato was a student of Socrates.  He was born in 428, lived in Ancient Greece, and taught another father of western philosophy, Aristotle. Plato covered philosophical topics such as metaphysics, reality, and nature. Many written works of Socrates and Plato contain influences or dialogues from each other.
