(16-1) Partre on freedom

March 26, 2013
Group discussed Partre and his extentialist view. We found statement that one person chooses a path than we are saying everyone should take the same. We discusses that wether there should be personal responsibility for our actions. Partre also said that "Bad faith is running away from freedom. It is a kind of lie you tell yourself and almost believe: the lie that you aren't really free to choose what to do with your life, when, according to Sartre, whether you like it or not, you are.". So what do you think of Parte philosophy? Leave you comments or video responses.

  1. I do not agree that people should follow another person's path of life if they are bad aspects. I think we can have role models that we look up to, and we can use those good ways of life they show in our own lives. However, what if someone stole and murdered? Should a person follow him or her? No, of course not. Each person needs to choose for themselves how they act and how they live their lives out. (Although, we can still be good influences on people!)

  2. I dont think that any decision any person makes they believe everyone should do that as Parte did. Many times people are put in bad situations where they must do things that they know are not right.
