In fact there are lots of secular Buddhists who reject reincarnation and other supernatural-isms. Robert Wright and Stephen Batchelor have written extensively in this vein. And Jennifer Michael Hecht, in "Doubt: A History," offers an interesting simile involving a series of lit candles whose continuous flame is in a sense "reincarnated" but also perfectly explicable as a natural phenomenon.
