Almost too common to be funny, anymore. It's surely a perversion of identity to invest such vicarious aspirations in our children, whose birthright it is to decide (to the extent that any of us ever does) their own vocational goals. Pretty sure I'd have rebelled, if my parents had pushed me to play (or even just care about) baseball.
