  1. Wish I could say I was shocked.

Reagan was a cannier politician than Drumpf, he knew better than to say what he was thinking on matters of race. But Drumpf's "candor" seems to work for him, even as it tears up the nation. Reagan at least understood that leaders should not be divisive in public.

  2. I never understood Reagan's hero worship. Other than his ability to read a prompter and his sharp wit, he was nothing more than figure head for a government being ran by those that got him elected. I remember the high interest rates and the squeeze on the lower and middle class well. Getting rid of FCC regulations such as "Equal Time" and group ownership of more than on television station has led us where we are today with the propaganda machines of Fox News and right wing conglomerates such as Sinclair Broadcasting.

  3. Mitch, I just saw this on CNN and glad you posted it. It is funny when you compare the two individuals, both came to public attention through television. I think their acting ability has been questioned :-), but I remember Reagan on GE theater. He was convincing enough that he won the Governorship of California and we all know about Trump. I think it will be to their detriment for the Democrats to underestimate Trump's supporters as it was for them to underestimate Reagan. Sadly, I feel for the most part they both appeal to the worse in humanity which is focusing on dividing the nation into different identities and if you don't match their identity you are "them" versus "us." Maybe some day humans will look at each other differently.
