"The pluralistic form takes for me a stronger hold on reality than any other philosophy I know of, being essentially a social philosophy, a philosophy of 'co'"-William James
I'd agree with Aristotle! However, I think the meaning of life is supreme eternal happiness. This is usually the case for most Christians because heaven can be described as supreme eternal happiness.
I don’t fully agree with this quote because not everybody is happy. There are people that’s try to be happy in anyway possible but just don’t have the ability to. All we gotta do is find that thing that gives you purpose in life because not everyone can be happy. That’s my opinion at least.
The meaning of life is subjective. Although being happy is something we all prefer to be, it is dependent upon our personal philosophies, which differ greatly. Some people believe that life is inherently meaningless and anything that means something is due to the meaning we attribute to it.
I do not believe that happiness is the true purpose of life. This is because many people attempt to find happiness in ways that actually destroy them (e.g. drug use). I believe that the our purpose is to do the will of our creator, and through this we will find eternal joy and love. Speaking of love, I think that if we are attempting to explain the meaning of life through a feeling, love is probably a better choice than happiness.
I do believe that achieving happiness is the goal in life. Everything that people do is an attempt to create some kind of happiness. Now whether or not the outcome is true happiness is subjective. Some things people do create short term happiness, or might be destructive habits, but I believe people all want to feel some type of happiness. Some people are better equipped to make the right moves and choices to obtain happiness than others. section 6
In my opinion, the purpose of life is whatever the person decides it is for them. I feel like one can only be fulfilled when striving to accomplish their own goals. Section 6
"To be an ultimate end, an act must be self-sufficient and final, "that which is always desirable in itself and never for the sake of something else." That is Happiness.

ReplyDeleteHappiness doesn't define the human existence. With so many other emotions general happiness can not be it all.

ReplyDeleteYou can live life without being happy. It's difficult but possible.

That is a good outlook to the existence of human beings.
