The feel-good story of the weekend...
A couple combed a rural Montana community for their Border collie, Katie.
After a late night at a stock-car race, Carole and Verne King returned to their dog-friendly hotel in Kalispell, Mont., and made a devastating discovery.
Their 7-year-old Border collie, Katie, was no longer in the room. She had apparently managed to unlatch the door, possibly spooked by a thunderstorm that had swept through the area. At the front desk, an attendant said she had seen an anxious dog bolt out the front door hours before.
The Kings were stunned. In the small city of 23,000 people that backs up to the sprawling wilderness near Glacier National Park, surrounded by forests and fields, where would they even start looking?
Over the next 57 days, the couple set out on a desperate search that included night-vision goggles, animal-tracking cameras and horse manure brought in from the family’s farm in Eastern Washington. Ms. King, a postal carrier, quit her job... (continues)
I would 100% search for my dog if he got lost. My dog is family so it would be like losing a son or daughter if i lost my good boy.

ReplyDeleteIf my dog got out I would treat it as if my actual child got kidnapped or something. I would search day and night.
My animals mean the world to me. I have lost animals in the past and to this day it still hurts! I am so glad they could find their dog.
ReplyDeleteDogs are pretty much children these days. If I lost my pet, I would be extremely heart broken and search for as long as I could, day and night. I love the devotion this family had for their furry friend.

We had a much less intense search for our dogs one time when our neighbor's little toddler let them out of the fence. Section 11

DeleteI probably would go looking for my dog but not super long. Children get into everything!
Section 11:
ReplyDeleteI love my dogs very much but I do not feel like I would literally quit my job to look for him/her. To some people dogs are literally children, so if looking at it in that sense it makes sense for them to search as long as they did.
sec 11 My dog is dumb so I would definitely need to look for her. probably would be willing to quit a job
