Michael Buck- Section 9- Blog post #1

The subject I want to talk about in these couple of blog posts is Joe Dirt's philosophy on life, how I interpret it, and how I feel it could actually be usefull in life despite the comedic movie it comes from.  First off love the movie, I think it is one of my favorite comedies out there.  I feel like the philosophy of Joe Dirt, which essentially is "life is a garden, dig it" along with "keep on keepin on" and "you never give up."  http://youtu.be/pgPnLqKhms0.  That clip just kinda sums up what I said in the previous sentence.  Joe's focus through out the movie, for the most part, is be good to the people around you and have a positive out look on life.  He also feels that if he keeps this attitude he'll meet good people and good things will happen to him.  You can tell through out the movie that he rarely judges people.  Through having that mentality he meets some people that become some really good friends of his and actually meet back up with him a the end of the movie.  The biggest reason I find this significant is because the friends he makes are very different and would not have been received by many people.

It's funny to see how Joe just kinda floats through life knowing that things will end up working out for him.  He ends up finding himself in some hilarious situations; everything from being kidnapped by Buffalo Bill to ending up the radio station where he ends up telling his story to America.  It is because of this lifestyle that he finds all those friends i mentioned earlier, finds his parents, gets with the girl that he gets at the end of the movie and shapes him into the person that he is.
