As William James said in Pragmatism Lecture I, one's philosophy (not to mention one's happiness) is "only partly got from books"...
or meetings:
"Sorry I'm late, I got caught up at home being happy."

ReplyDeleteI agree. Our philosophy is how we process the functions of the world around us. If we do not go out and experience the world, then we would have a serious lack the perspectives that compose our own true philosophy. After all, a person is built from their experiences.

I honestly don't understand the first comic with the rock. Maybe I'm oblivious if someone could explain that to me?
ReplyDeleteThe ice cream one is a good example! You can read about ice cream all day,but you'll never have a complete and fair idea about ice cream until you try it!
The meeting comic, however, gave me the message: If you want to keep being happy, don't go to work (lol). However, my philosophy about happiness is that it's a constant choice so she could've brought her happiness with her. (:
