Section 13 Group 2
On Thursday we further discussed Plato. We specifically went deeper into his "theory of forms". We argued whether or not we agreed with his views or not, we decided not, rather quickly. To us it does not make sense to imagine a more perfect world, we should focus on the reality of the "real world" we are living in. Though we also pointed out striving for perfection is not always bad.

ReplyDeleteaye, good stuff last meeting. But yupp, Epicurus seems like a big improvement over Plato. His stuff is a lot less depressing, and I kind of like some of his ideas, like not worrying about death and whatnot. Should be an interesting discussion. Perhaps we could talk about his idea of "I was not; I have been; I am not; I do not mind."
ReplyDeleteGreat Discussion last class. Interested in hearing what it shall be about today. Plato continues to Awe me with is bazar way of thinking. Charles.
