Have you ever attempted to share your beliefs, convictions, core principles (etc.) in public?

When I'm working on creating lyrics for a song, I tend to aim for direct (and indirect at times) representations of my beliefs and past convictions. It's sometimes cathartic to get off my chest things that have complicated my life more than needed. At the same time, performing my own songs out in public gives me anxiety just thinking about it. I find it daunting and rewarding at the same time.

  1. I've tried to but most people don't seem to want to listen only speak thinking that what they believe is the only way to believe.Exactly like with politics instead of debating and seeing from the other person's point of you they yell, call names, and point figures. To mention it i saw something on the news about a New York governor who passed a bill allowing abortions to be allowed if the mother's life is in danger at any point during the pregnancy. People are calling hima monster and unjust however, it didn't say it was legal for anyone at anytime just if the mother of the unborn child is in danger.

  2. Section 9

Once in a while, I've met someone that I can disagree with on heavy sensitive topics, but they're receptive, and happy to disagree. They don't become further entrenched in their views (I try to do the same) and we can have a productive discussion.

I believe that attitude towards personal beliefs among people is rare. We live in an age of knee-jerk outrage and social media witch hunts, where disagreement (and being disagreeable for that matter) on certain issues is viewed as a capital offense.

I stay off social media and keep my convictions to myself, for the most part.
