"A Glorious Accident"
Sarah's reflections on consciousness (below) have reminded me of this old 7-part Dutch documentary on consciousness and evolution, which features separate segments with Oliver Sacks, Daniel Dennett, Stephen Jay Gould, Freeman Dyson, and others. Here's the first episode, with Sacks... and the last, which brings all the subjects together for a fascinating roundtable conversation. There's also a book (cheap copies available online).
