(ie. the recently passed Amendment One regarding abortion which affects the lives of the conservative leaning people who would not have ever decided to have an abortion far less than it would the 15 year old girl that made a mistake)<br /><br />Also, the second DQ sort of segues into something not necessarily relevant to what we've been discussing but I feel is still important. Why is it that, in general, sexual education of adolescents is so severely lacking? There seems to be an incredible amount of focus on abstaining from sex, as well as the dangers of sex, but (at least in my experience and many experiences I've heard of) very little important factual information about safe sex is available to those adolescents. It seems that in many cases, sexual education courses are more founded in propaganda and scare-tactics than in the desire to allow young adults important information about their own bodies.
