Mersey


Over one hundred years, after Henry James experienced crossing the Mersey (page 10, English Hours), Gerry & The Pacemakers put the love for the country into lyrics that James felt for the land he too came to love as he came into Liverpool. I doubt any of you know this group, but here is the link to the song and the backstory. I wonder what Henry James would have thought about Liverpool today.

    I for one even after just watching the video would have noticed several mentions that could easily evolve into meaningful discussion
