The Future
Is it possible to alter the future? The future by definition is time that is to be or come hereafter. So you would need to ask then can time be altered. The definition of time is the system of those sequential relations that any event has to any other, as past, present, or future; indefinite and continuous duration regarded as that in which events succeed one another. In the definition of time it says indefinite, therefore by the definition of time and future, the future is indefinite and can therefore be altered. Of course by definition just means how society in todays world defines things that we think are words. If our definition of these words is correct then the future can be altered. The little things that we do in our everyday life can have a profound effect on our futures. For instance a kind word can have a profound impact on someone's life. There have bee n specific examples where people that where clinically depressed heard a kind word and it most defiantly changed there lives for ever. I could relate this back to the Christmas Carole. A story that answers this question quite well a story literally completely about how our actions effects what we become in life. Some will try to argue that the future is set because know one knows what it is but we have probability's of what the future will be and those change all the time. (H1)

I like to think that each encounter one has with another alters their life in some way. Whether it changes it's direction changes completely or just slightly bends to the right or left- sort of like a maze game with infinite exits.
ReplyDeleteI personally believe that each decision we take, each action, changes the future because every decision has its own future.
ReplyDeleteI also believe that each decision we make can change the future because different courses of actions will have different outcomes. You choose to do certain things, but some will change the future in more ways than others.

ReplyDeleteThank you. I thought that the story really in a way summed up the theory of the future it showed how a small action can have extreme changes whish is what I believe.
DeleteI agree with you that our future is in our hands. Every choice in our life is hugely important in my views and this highlights how you can change your own future by little things that most would not consider. Like you said, one word and one thing can have a monumental change and I like to lead my life thinking that. Rather than focus on how small we are, I think we should live with the idea that we are the most important thing because truly, we are.
