In my final post, I will cover Martin Luther shortly before the writing of the 95 thesis, and his life after.
It is clear that Marlin Luther's goal was to change the way people thought about Religion, especially in areas he thought needed it the most. Martin Luther wrote the 95 thesis because he believed that salvation can be reached through faith alone, not another person. (Catholic Church)





After his 95 thesis, Luther became a priest in Erfurt. Luther also began to study Theology at the university of Erfurt; Theology is the study of the nature of God and religious belief. Luther then began to study God in the original way, the Hebrew Bible.
Martin Luther in 1512 moved to Wittenburg and became a Professor of Theology. Martin Luthers religion came from his studies in Theology where he discovered people receive salvation through the grace of God, not acts of good.
After writing his 95 thesis, the Roman Church summoned him and Luther was excommunicated by the Pope.
Shortly after Luther had been invited to the Imperial Diet of Worms by a reluctant emperor and his princes. Luther traveled through many places to get to Worms and finally arrived on April 16th, 1521 where he taught his views. The emperor disagreed with these teaching, and Luther states "Unless I am convinced by Scripture and plain reason - I do not accept the authority of the popes and councils, for they have contradicted each other - my conscience is captive to the Word of God. I cannot and I will not recant anything for to go against conscience is neither right nor safe. God help me. Amen."

After his teachings in Worms, Luther and his supporters left. However the Emperor was angry with him and he declared him a outlaw. For Luther's safety he went to Wartburg where he laid low and let time allow everything to calm down. While there Luther translated the New Testament into German, it was very popular in Germany.
In 1525 Luther married Katharina Von Bora, she was a nun who had retreated to Wittenburg with him. Luther and his wife had six children, plus relatives of his wife who also stayed with them. As Luther aged he became weaker; one of his daughters died in 1542 which made it difficult for him to go on much longer. Luther wrote many books throughout his time and made many good , as well as bad relationships with different people, however his book writings really took off in his later years in life as it was the only way for him to spread his word throughout the world. He died on February 18, 1546 in Eisleben. On his death bed Luther prayed "Into your hands, I command my spirit. You have saved me, Father, you faithful God."
