Installment #2 Sec 8. Having a Healthy Mind

It is important for us to take care of ourselves fully. Though having a healthy physical body is important; it is also vital to have a healthy mind.
         I feel that mind and body go hand and hand. Stress can cause over 90% of our bodies minor ailments such as headaches, sleep disorders, short temper, upset stomach anxiety, depression, high blood pressure and so on. It is one of the worst things you can do to yourself yet so many of us do not know how to manage it properly. You will not have healthy body if you do not also have a healthy mind. Having an unhealthy mind does not mean having any medically diagnosed mental illness. It can be anything from stressing over homework, not knowing how to deal with a breakup or having a short temper with your boss. There are many ways to manage your mental health. I think what’s most important, is to always make time for YOU. Take care of yourself, relax, take a bubble bath, meditate, read a book and just wind down. It will not only benefit you mentally and emotionally, but physically as well.
 I feel it is also important to keep your mind sharp. It is easy now in college to keep an active mind, but it can be easy to get caught up in the same dull work routine after graduation. I am going to try hard to keep learning knew things even after school and keep my mind active. Good mental health offers a feeling of well being and inner strength. So don’t stress and...
