Thomas Hobbes philosophy, in my eyes, was that humans are to be controlled by one individual or a group to sustain a structured society but how it is explained in the book, it sounds arbitrary. His justification for this was that if we lived outside of society, we would live in a kill or be killed lifestyle. In a kind of way, Do you think we live in a kill or be killed world today?
