section 13 group 2 summary

Today in class, we talked about our midterm report and formed groups in order to begin working on the project. We discussed control vs.conditioning. We concluded that you cannot control your initial feelings, but you can control how you immediately react.

    FQ: What term is used by anti-naturalists to describe the alleged mistake of arguing from facts to value?

    DQ: If you were to fall into a coma tomorrow, would you take the Stoic view today and be voluntarily euthanized? Do you even consider it stoicism to be voluntarily euthanized in this particular circumstance?

    DQ: In Philosophy the basics, the idea of "eudaimonia" has returned, and this time it leads to virtues as a basis for morality. Before it talked about being "true happiness" as many of us summarized it. Do we really believe being virtuous can lead to being "truly happy?" Why or why not?
