Katherine McCann-Section 10-Group 3

Hey everyone!
If you haven't concluded this from the title, my name is Katherine, and I'm a member of group 3 in cophilosophy section 10.
As many of my fellow group mates have said, our group spent most of the time getting acquainted with one another and talking a little bit about philosophy.
We each discussed our favorite philosophers, which ranged from Thoreau to Socrates to life influencers.
It was wonderful!

Now on to my FQ, DQ, and link to today's class discussion!

FQ: Pretty basic, I know, but How did Socrates die?
Also: Did Socrates really consider himself a wise man?

DQ: If a modernized version of Socrates had lived in today's society with all of his opinions and what not, would he be considered as wise and brilliant as he is today? Meaning, would his modern words have the same effect as his old teachings?
Also: Do you think philosophy has its boundaries?

Link:
I'm a big fan of cheesy, dumb 80s movies. So, my first thought when I hear the name 'Socrates' is honestly Bill and Ted's excellent adventure. Say what you want about the clueless Bill and Ted, but I think both these guys are about as open-minded as they come, even if they don't really know what they're talking about. But, then again, who really does?
Here's a link to the scene where they meet Socrates. This, going back to my first discussion question, is as close to a face-to-face modern interaction with Socrates as it gets. (Plus, it will ALWAYS make me laugh!)

That's all folks! Sorry for my rambling!
