Teenage Mutant Ninja Philosophers

Hey guys!! We talked a lot about Friedrich Nietzsche today in class, in particular his belief in the Übermensch which is the German word for Super Man. We also discussed one of his more famous works Thus Spoke  ZaraThustra  as well as his idea that "God is Dead." We also briefly mentioned Sigmund Freud and some of his ideas such as the "true meaning of dreams" and the "Oedipus Complex". Don't forget to go over the readings and here are some thought-provoking quotes from Nietzsche:
1. "All things are subject to interpretation whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth."
2. "Thoughts are the shadows of our feelings - always darker, emptier and simpler."
3. "Blessed are the forgetful: for they get the better even of their blunders."
4." There are no facts, only interpretations.
5." The Christian resolution to find the world ugly and bad has made the world ugly and bad."

Also check out this link about odd obsessions of Famous Philosophers (Descartes, Marx, Voltaire, Nietzche,Kant, and  Kierkegaard are all on here) See you guys Wednesday!
