Olivers Favs

Thank you,

  1. FQ) What theory did Frank Ramsey develop in mathematics?
DQ) Do you believe Ramsey was right in being a "zoologist" about truth? Is there any way there could be a generalized truth for anything or will it still be redundant?

  2. Everything is "philosophy-related."

But you must mean you were all too busy figuring out who might be exam- or report exempt, to engage in serious discussion. Let's get that figured out today, quickly.

  3. (FQ) What movement did Russel start that caused philosophers to consider language more carefully? The "linguistic turn"
(FQ) What branch of philosophy was Ayer famous for attacking, because it was "meaningless," as he put it? Metaphysics
(DQ) What are your thoughts on Ayer's Boo/Hooray! Theory? Do you think moral judgement is a meaningful topic that you can apply logic to, or just emotion?

FQ: Who did Hugh Mellor want to nominate as the greatest Cambridge philosopher?
    *Frank Ramsey* (PB 214)

DQ: Have any of you ever heard of the mathematical branch, the "Ramsey Theory?" I hadn't, but maybe because I avoid anything math related like the plague.

  5. FQ: What was Ayer's way of telling meaningful from meaningless sentences?
-is it true by definition? - is it empirically verifiable?
