Thunder Dragons Group Walk

On Monday, we all (those who chose to) got the honor of taking a stroll outside until about 5:10. I partnered up with Gil and we took a stroll around campus. We ventured from the KOM, to the COE, on  to the Honors Building, then lastly by the Library before heading back up to 452. Our discussion mainly centered around the ideas and thoughts of Berkeley and Locke. It's crazy to think that a room, for example, could possibly cease to exist when all humanity exits its presence. We denied the fact that things cease to exist because they're real, made of matter and elements, and we're aware of the fact that they exist. However, who are we to say that all matter is only supposed to serve humans in their presence? But then how is matter aware to cease existing once we exit its presence? Thought provoking. We then discussed and concluded that all philosophical truth should never not be argued. Philosophy and philosophical discussions should never end in truth but always challenged.

For this weeks readings... It's interesting that Rousseau thought that true religion came from the heart and didn't need religious ceremonies. I agree to a certain extent. I agree that one's own belief is solely dignified by his or her own heart and mind and nothing else. However, it's the pressure of ceremonies and peers that engage and persuade one towards a certain way of belief.
