Philosophers Guild (H)

Philosophers Assemble!
We did not have a very deep philosophical discussion, rather we divided up all of the necessary work for each member.  And we shall be questing to seek the holy grail!  Monty Python and philosophy is our group project and I must say i am looking forward to it.

  3. Factual Question: True or False! Augustine asked God to give him strength against bodily pleasures immediately. (False! He asked God to give him strength against it later because he was just having too much fun.)
Discussion Question: Augustine seems to take all blame from God and personify him as a supremely good being, suggesting then that evil came into the world because of humanity. Would you agree with this statement? Are humans to blame for evil in the world?
Comments: I am also excited about out Monty Python project. Its going to be awesome! Can't wait to kick it off today.
I commented on the Nameless 8's conversation.
Links! Here is A TON of information on Augustine of Hippo... maybe a little too much http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/02084a.htm

  5. Factual Question: How long did it take for a posthumous biography of Santayana to be made? (Several Decades)

Philisophical Question: Is everything just matter in motion or something more than that?

Comment: What is there to say? We talked about Monty Python. Oh, and I did call the Black Knight a stoic. That was interesting.

Monty Python will be cool. It will be interesting to see the connection drawn between comedy and philosophy.
