Philosoraptors and Super Heroes - Maybe they're one in the same?!

Hello, everyone!

So today, not much happened by way of discussion of the reading in our groups. Most of it was spent organizing our group presentation that is coming up rather fast. Also, some sleeping.

In class, we discussed Machiavelli and Hobbes, and towards the end of the lecture, whether or not music is becoming the new "thought-provoking medium" as movies once were. A rather dashing and cunning individual on the left side of the room made the remark that video games may suit that sort of highly narrative-driven, food-for-thought experience more-so than music is, and that it may be the way things are headed in the future. I thought it was an interesting discussion, and one I would be more than happy to continue on at length with in the future.

In groups, we further discussed who will be presenting out of our two groups, and then who will be presenting what chapters. We also said that we will have our rough individual powerpoint presentations ready to go on Monday, so that we can practice our presentation Wednesday, after class is over.

I think that was everything major that was covered, but if I missed anything, just give me a heads up in the comments and I'll add it in.

Completely unrelated to the topic at hand, but I do love me some Calvin and Hobbes (or not completely unrelated, seeing as we did talk about a guy named Hobbes today in class!), and I think that everyone could use some more of that in their lives.

And with that, I hope you all have an awesome weekend, and I shall see you all on Monday!

  6. I can put up an empty file in the same folder as the reading list, if that works.

    1. actually, that doesn't work. The permission will be all messed up. I'll create a new folder and send that out via email so only we can access it.
