7 and 1/2 Americans (Gr.2 Sect. 19)

Today we talked about abortion and the objective presents. We talked about rape and how a woman who is raped should not have to go through with the pregnancy since the pregnancy was forced upon them and wasn't in their interest. In contrast to that situation, a woman should have to have a baby if they have sex willingly because that's their choice. This subject is very objectionable in nature and therefore makes it very complicated and situational to just say one or the other.

  1. Every individual is entitled to their own opinion. Abortion is a subject that is very tough to come to a decision on. Women who are raped fall into a completely different category than a woman who has consented intercourse and becomes pregnant. Thus making the arguments for abortion very tough.

  2. I personally don't agree with abortion at all, in any way, shape, or form. I believe that even if a woman is unfortunate enough to be raped, she should go through with the pregnancy and then put the baby up for adoption. But I think it's important to realize that these thought experiments are to simple to be realistic, and that you can't make the 'right' choice because the situation is different when you are actually experiencing it, as opposed to just thinking about it.

I don't agree with abortion but i feel that everyone should be able to make their own decisions. You can never be completely certain on the persons' reason for deciding to go through with abortion and how tough the decision is for them since the pregnancy was forced due to the fact that they were raped; however if a woman is having sex willingly and decided to abort then my feelings are a little different for the situation but at the end of the day i feel that it should be their decision n everyone should respect it.
