Section 14 Group 1-Auto-didactic (Darwin Summary)

Today in class,
Group 1 discussed "naturalist" Charles Darwin in great detail. Among many things, the Theory of Evolution of course arose, as well as the Big Bang Theory. Group 1 came to the conclusion that Charles Darwin was a very philosophical being ,although he was a scientist. In relation,  we also acknowledged how "scientific" the subject of Philosophy actually is, in regards to how philosophers come about answering their questions. Dr. Oliver provided a lot of insight into the life of Charles Darwin. Today's discussion was very interesting and informative. Unfortunately, we will not meet again until the Tuesday after next. Group 1 can hardly wait!

    Hello friends,
The assigned reading on Peirce was very intriguing. Upon reading, I discovered that Peirce was basically the root of Pragmatism. C.S. Peirce’s entire doctrine was chiefly about having solid facts to confirm the validity of something. In my opinion, Peirce was definitely not an individual that dealt with foolishness. He appeared to be someone that enjoyed facts, as well as being very straight forward. I believed Peirce to be extremely analytical and rational. If C.S. were to take the “True Colors” Personality Test, he would probably be categorized as green because of the aforementioned reasons.
    Questions:
1.When did Pragmatism become accepted in the U.S.?
2.What is your view on Pragmatism?
