"The pluralistic form takes for me a stronger hold on reality than any other philosophy I know of, being essentially a social philosophy, a philosophy of 'co'"-William James
Hmmm, well I think we as humans have to rely on our senses to gather information like reading and hearing things. Can they be trusted? I would say so because if not then we really couldn't trust any information we read or hear that questions the senses. I'm confusing myself right now but I hope u get what I'm saying.
What did Voltaire believe the existence of the world proved?
A: That a creator exists, but nothing more.
Discussion Q:Do u agree with this assumption? Why or why not?
just to play the devil's advocate for once I'm gonna say that no, they are not necessarily the most trustworthy things that we have. Sounds, words, sight can be misinterpreted. Helen Keller was extremely successful given that she was deaf and blind.
Who wrote the "Philosophical Dictionary"? answer: Voltaire
Do you think that pain in this world is well distributed?
I think that sometimes we can have one or two of our senses deceive us, but at those times we are able to use the rest of our senses to make sense of whatever it is. And i am pretty sure Helen Keller had quite a few people helping her out so her success isn't entirely due to herself.
