  1. I think al Warraq had a some strange ideas. As for al Rawandi's idea that we didn't need prophets: I think it is useful to listen to various people and numerous religions regardless of whether or not you agree with them. I am not under the impression that people can just figure everything out by themselves.

FQ: When was the Zohar written?
    A: 1280

DQ: "He who affirms that God...has positive attributes...has abolished his belief in the existence of the deity without being aware of it."
According to this view, all the current descriptions of God as "loving, just, righteous, etc" are actually an admission that God does not exist. If this is true, how does one talk about God or describe him to someone who is new to the concept? Does this take away the personal relationship modern churches emphasize?

  2. I think that al Warraq had an interesting theory. With regards to God setting up people for failure, then punishing them. i think that's not God at all. we being humans have free will so its not God doing it, it's us. I also think that calling God an idiot is completely ridiculous, especially when you are supposed to be "God-fearing". It's contradictory.

What does the Zohar stress? the acts of repentance and savoring the bitterness of exile.

Do you think the idea of suffering is beneficial to a human?

  3. I think it is pretty ridiculous you can acknowledge God is real but then call him stupid? How does that work? Knowledge is power, and I am not saying there is anything with "philosophical thinking", but I don't believe I am going to try to come up with ideas as to why God does all that he does because who is going to prove/disprove it? I think God gets a good laugh at the people who try so hard to figure out all of these "secrets" because in the end, what does it matter if you know why God does what he does? We should just put our faith in him because one day he will answer all of those questions for us
