5(16) New Atheism

Happy late Thanksgiving, guys!
Sorry I was late posting again. Walking Dead came on...

Anywho. Tomorrow we have the New Atheists, then we're done with Doubt! So, two questions are:

Factual: Were women included as doubters with the New Atheist movement? True/False. A. True

Discussion: Do you believe humanity could continue if it were proven that God did not exist?

Also, will someone remind me in class tomorrow what last week's questions were? I think I forgot to write them down and there has been a massive amount of food consumed between last Wednesday and today. Anyone who remembers, remind me? Or make something up. I won't know the difference.

  1. haha thats funny. I believe the last question was if atheism has evolved. For this week's discussion question, I think society would continue. There are a tremendous amount of people today, in our nation alone, who perfer to remain silently atheist. These people believe they know the difference between right and wrong and do not need to be reminded. I personally think that the way the world is becoming today, we as a whole pay less and less attention to the traditional ways or atleast doubt their true meanings. Ex. Thanksgiving being a commercial holiday through black friday. I believe that true followers of God would still say that the proof is invalid. A true follower does not loose faith. Also, without God, I believe, one can not attain much besides a cycle of ups and downs. With the help of God we are able to surmount our trivial human problems. Maybe that is what 2012 is all about. It is a little glimpse of foreshadowing. I do not think the world is going to end or anything but it is kind of like God gifted us with knowledge and once we get it we forget to thank him and change even though God never changes. Then again, what do I know. Let it be and let come what may. :)

  2. I like both of these posts. our group is so great.
Discussion question: what do you think atheists would do if there were no God?
or this: atheists proclaim themselves to be free thinkers. But they have been around as long as religion has. if they hold the key to a better society, why haven't any of those ideas caught on? why is religion still around?

Factual Question: are our perceptions accurate reflections of reality? rarely
